The Body's Truth

One of my favorite aspects of EMDR therapy is it is a mind/body therapy.

In the west, we seem to be indoctrinated into a belief in duality, i.e. good/bad, right/wrong, mind over body, etc. Eastern belief is much more grounded into holding many truths simultaneously.

EMDR supports the belief that all memories are held in the body, on a cellular level, as well as in memory.

In order to heal from trauma, EMDR incorporates both the mind and body. As trauma is reduced or resolved, both the body and the memory clear themselves.

Unlike cognitive/behavioral therapies, EMDR is the vehicle for freedom from body and memory recall.
